About Playdays
Welcome to Playdays Pre-school! We are a community pre-school based in Plymstock Community Centre. We cater for children aged 2-5 years. Here at Playdays we strive to ensure a safe, caring and welcoming environment for all of our children and their families. We are based in the main hall, which provides a large, flexible space where we offer a variety of activities and experiences ranging from imaginative real world play to cooking and baking – the space changes daily! in addition we have a purpose built sensory room and a well-equipped outside play area and garden. We know that choosing a pre-school for your child is an important decision and we would love you to come and meet us.
We're a partnership
We strongly believe that the partnership between pre-school and home is so important and we would love our parents and carers to be involved as much as possible. Parents are welcome to stay for those first initial 'settling in' sessions, to ensure that their child feels confident and safe.
The staff at Playdays, along with you as parents, take a joint responsibility for the development and care of your children during their time with us and we would welcome any contribution you feel you could make to the pre-school. Maybe you have a particular skill or talent you could share with the children? Or perhaps you'd like to get involved with organising special events or fundraising? Beyond Pre-School
When the time comes for your little ones to move up to 'big school' we work hard to ensure that they are ready and feel happy and confident to start life at their new school.
We have developed excellent relationships with our local feeder primary schools and welcome the Foundation Stage teachers into the Pre-School to come and meet their new children. We also liaise with the Primary staff to ensure that all relevant information is passed on, so we can make the transition to Primary as smooth as possible for both your children and you.
At the end of the pre-school year, as well as a party for all of our children, we organise a celebratory 'graduation' for all of our leavers and their families to attend. It is a wonderful opportunity for us all to share and reflect on how much the children have grown and developed during their time with us and to celebrate all of their achievements!
